No, the Roman persecution did not happen to disperse the christians to fullfil Jesus' words to go ye into all the world and preach the gospel. The Roman Christians were a result of "go into all the world and preach the gospel". Ever heard of Roman Mythology? The Roman Empire was a polytheistic nation and very evil and heathenistic. When the persecution took place it was creating a revival. Romans 1:14,15 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise. So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. Mark 3:23-24 23: And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
I have always heard that a saved person cannot be possesed by a devil and for the most part I believe that. But what of a newly saved person? Can he or she for a short time be possesed? The responce I hear most is this: "a house divided against itself cannot stand" Look a little deeper and you will see that "if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end." Notice that it didnt say that the Holy Ghost rise up against satan....but rather Satan against Satan. In the case of a newly saved demon possesed person Yes eventually one will win out over the other, But this passage does not say that it is impossible.
